VIDEO E-MAIL TO TROOPS IN IRAQ
Overview
Snap!T
Media (http://www.SnapItMedia.com)
had it's origins as a derivative product developed in connection with work for
the U.S. Senate.
At the time, we had been contracted to create an easy-to-use web communication
suite, permitting remote (U.S. Senate) offices to coordinate with video
conferencing and other related virtual meeting services.
After achieving our initial objectives of facilitating live web-conferencing
with a real-time recording capability, we recognized that quickly and
efficiently recording short messages was functionally the same as recording hour
long meetings. That said, we adapted the same technologies towards a Video Email
solution, which proved immediately compelling and effective.
Our first effort was to position the product as either a B2B server solution or
a subscription-based service. Both options showed some traction and merit; but,
we were presented with an alternative option by some coincidence.
The end-of-year holiday season was upon us, and a business partner had suggested
a one-time promotion inviting the local community to send "Video Email to the
Troops" serving in Iraq. This would be done free with sponsorship by local
businesses.
The whole event was put together in just a few days. A local Greek restaurant
was our location sponsor where we planned to operate the event around the Lunch
rush.
Remarkably, what had been planned as up to a three (3) hour promotion/event
quickly became overwhelmed with eager participants, who became wrapped around
the block well past our original planned time. The restaurant owner gladly
extended our stay, and, ultimately, we carried on through and past the Dinner
rush.
For nearly ten (10) hours, we helped process one user after another as each came
with heart-felt wishes of encouragement, faith, and support for friends, family,
and our forces serving abroad. Curiously, we even found that many people were
compelled to address messages to the troops-at-large, with no one specific
individual in mind.
That day, we recognized that we had tapped into a powerful current of emotion
felt by so many. Our Video Email promotion seemed to give a voice and an outlet
for expression to people, who it seemed were feeling otherwise unheard. Because
of this, we have a very strong tie to the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Army,
among others, who would very much like to see more of this.
Our next step was in offering our free service to Colleges and Universities
across the U.S. We have 125 schools "Lit up" now and that is growing. The
driving force behind our service is the local and national sponsors (what we
call the "Google Model").
We are now in the planning stage of securing an RV in the Washington,
D.C. area. We will place magnetic signs
on the sides and back of the RVs (as well as on Canopies that we can set up once
parked) with National and Local sponsors' ads on them and do a live video feed
hopefully beginning at Walter Reed Hospital and then moving across the Eastern
Seaboard to the VA Hospitals in each area. Our venue will be to let the general
public along the way send video emails for Free to the troops in Iraq. We will
no doubt garner National and International TV, Radio and News Press from this.
We will also donate 10% of all monies collected to the VA Hospital system. Also,
the local sponsors in each area we visit will have their Banner added to the RV
to replace the sponsors in the area we just left.
Once Investor(s) and Partners commit in Hawaii, we will begin the RV process in the Islands and visit the Tripler Army and VA Hospital on Oahu and possibly the outer Islands (now that the Ferry will be active this fall).
We are actively in discussions with one of the largest cinema chains in the U.S. about potential ads on their 15,000 + screens across the Country and a collaborative effort with well placed Kiosks across America. The Kiosks would have a large banner above them that states: "Send Video emails to the Troops in Iraq for FREE". The sponsors' ads would also appear on these Kiosks at no additional cost. Also remember that our Audio and Video email service is always free.
We are asking ALL of the media outlets (local and national) to assist us and support our efforts.
